"Getting to Know Sarina: 21 Questions"

Updated: Oct 13

  1. What inspired you to start a blog? I think I was looking for a creative outlet, in a digital diary format, but where I can share with my readers my life experiences, feelings thoughts, what I love ....things like that....

  2. Tell us a bit about your background and where you're from. I am from Eritrea, but born and raised in Saudi. I also lived in Jordan for while for school. I currently live with my 3 sisters and my parents whom I love. Love Animals - especially Dogs, but also Cats since I've rescued a few, during COVID. Love Art, Music, Travel, Fashion, Interior Designing, Reading, to Bake, etc.

  3. If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be? Jesus Christ, Nikola Tesla and Cleopatra

  4. What's your favorite book(s) and why? Countless - but a few would be - Becoming Supernatural - Dr. Joe Dispenza's book, Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress, Deception Point, Demons and Angels, Lost Symbol -Dan Brown books, The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction - Robert Greene books, 1984 - George Orwell's book etc... I like books that make my mind think a lot, a little of conspiracy related theories. I was going to mention Romance Novels, but it has been a looooooong time since I read those, but the authors would be of course Danielle Steel, Sidney Sheldon etc...

  5. How do you spend your free time when you're not blogging? Like to Walk, Dance, Relax, Meet up with my friends, Read, try to do new things etc....nothing fancy shmancy

  6. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Ohhhh I have a list! 2 reasons would drive me mostly to travel - the history and natures scenery. ok maybe 3 reasons - and to relax. Taj Mahal - India, New Orleans, Boston, Washington D.C, New York - USA, Athens and Santorini (and all the beach and historical locations), If I could I would do Italy again - Florence (Tuscany), Positano, Amalfi, Lake Como, Cinque Terre. Egypt - so I can see the sphinx and pyramids and live my Indiana Jones life lol and so on.... I told you I have a list....it just gets bigger, but the purse strings gets smaller hahahahahaha

  7. What's your go-to comfort food? List is endless - but pizza and cheeseburger come to mind right now. Can we add 'no-bake cheesecake' ?

  8. Who is your biggest inspiration in life and why? My Parents, I've always looked up to them all my life and through thick and thin, they are all about doing the right and good thing, about love and forgiveness! They have weathered so many many storms and bless them, they have stood firmly and still. So yes, My Parents are my inspiration....now if you asked me someone else who is not a family member....I'm sure there are a few....but that is for another '21 Questions' hahahaha

  9. What's your favorite quote and why does it resonate with you? As I write my post, 3 quotes come to mind. And I think it is self explanatory. “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” —Winston Churchill “If you can dream it, you can do it.” ―Walt Disney “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” —Confucius

  10. If you could master any skill instantly, what would it be? Learn any foreign language easily.

  11. What's the most challenging aspect of maintaining a blog for you? Consistency... Trying to be creative on writing something that is meaningful to me but also fun and informative to my readers.

  12. What advice would you give to your readers from your life experience ? Try to not worry in life (easier said than done), sometimes we tend to worry for things we assume would happen and usually assume the worst. Worry on the eleventh hour lol. Not all friends are for forever, some are just there for certain chapters in your life...and that is ok. The experience/chapter in your life was what got you both together and created a bond. But there are some friends, that are for forever...the rare kinds. Involve God in all your life decisions and thoughts. Have the mindset that nothing is impossible and have faith. Try to not be confined to a box, think outside the box! Cliche I know, but I mean it. Don't let anything restrict you from living your life and making the impossible - possible. We were told that in Matthew 17:20: “......, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

  13. What is your Weight, Height, Age, etc. ? Obviously my weight wasn't what it was 5 years ago, so I'll be tight lipped till I get back to my then weight which was 62.5 Kgs. I’m 171 cm and 35 years and every year I'm more appreciative of what I have and don't have in my life. I'm also on journey to revamp my life, my style, etc.

  14. If you had to choose one word to define yourself, what would it be and why? A 'Loving' Person. I think I love hard and completely. I always see the good in every person, even if they hurt me. I have other words I can choose to describe myself....but maybe on another round of 21 Questions..... Lol

  15. If you could time travel, what era would you visit and why? Well there are a few time periods I would like to visit, and I think the reasons will be obvious - Cleopatra and Julius Ceaser, Jesus Christ, Nikola Tesla eras, 1920s (fashion and music reasons) 1960s and 1970s (music and fashion reason)

  16. Describe a place that holds a special meaning for you and why. My home country- Eritrea, that's where I spent most of my summers, learning how it is to be in the outside, running around. The scenery, the nature, the people, the food - is all so healthy and organic. Jordan - that's the place where I went to university for and where I made friends, lived on my own (which was scary at first), I lived my university and young adult life. But I also learnt to be responsible etc. Italy - after COVID, I decided that I should finally take a plunge and get this long overdue trip that I wanted to do since forever. Knowing that I love history and architecture etc. the whole trip I was in awe!!!! I wish I had stayed longer. Florence had my heart, but Rome I enjoyed getting to know as much as I can and visit all the places. I definitely will do another trip during the summer one day, along with southern Italian cities/towns. Did I mention how the food and wine was - Deliziosa ??

  17. If you had a day entirely to yourself, how would you spend it? Oh wow! what a loaded question! what wouldn't I want to do.... if it is a weekend, I usually love to sleep in. But sometimes if I wake up earlier, have breakfast somewhere outside. Go to the spa/beauty salon, have lunch, read a book, have some more coffee, meet up with my friends, go to the cinema, I can go on and on....I guess it depends which day of the week or if I'm on a vacation or not...

  18. Share a hobby or interest that your readers might not know about. I love to satisfy my curiosity, so I love love love to read and research - That would be my 'Interest'. I also love decorating, interior designing, gardening and baking etc. I also love to do historical sight seeing, love History. - This would be my 'Hobby'.

  19. If you could choose any superpower, what would it be and how would you use it in your daily life? I would like to have the superpower of reading peoples mind and feelings. Of course I don't have that bone where I would like to use it for evil....but this superpower would definitely help me in not over analyzing, assuming and feeling for what people may think or feel. You read their mind or emotions, and you act accordingly, if he/she is mad, you know not to provoke but give some space. If sad, just be there and say nothing or offer support... things like that. But I would also use this superpower to stop bad people from hurting innocent people, or just people in general.

  20. Share a childhood memory that still brings a smile to your face. Going for summers back to my homeland - Eritrea and meeting with my cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents and family and also meeting new friends. Going back every summer, the first thing I would do- after the hostess opens the planes door, I would take a whiff of the cool frigid fresh air, and oh my Goshhhh....the fresh brewed coffee, fresh wet soil from the recent rain and the grass and cows nearby...yes cows...even now I get a nostalgic feeling and a big grin on my face as I reflect. Love it!

  21. Movie(s) that made you cry. John Q, Moulin Rouge, 7 pounds (over and over again), From scratch (over and over again), The Notebook, The pursuit of happyness, P.S I love you, The fault in the stars, City of Angels, Passion of the Christ, Braveheart, The lake house, City of Angels and Loving. I've recently heard reviews that One Day on netflix is so hopelessly romantic and sad, that has been making especially the ladies cry....so let me watch it, then I'll let you know if it made 'me' cry.
